Two channels replaced on Sky and Virgin Media in hours as part of first 2025 TV guide shake-up – and more to follow
TWO channels will disappear from Sky and Virgin Media very soon marking the first big shake-up of the TV guide for 2025.
But viewers need not worry about being worse off.
There will also be more channel changes later in the week on Sky[/caption]The two channels are reverting back to their main name after the Christmas period.
Movies24 and Movies24+ became Christmas24 and Christmas24+ respectively at the end of last year, showing festive movies.
But now Christmas is over and the decorations are starting to come down, the channels are switching back.
From Monday (January 6) they’ll both be back to the Movies24 brand.
So anyone that’s still feeling in the festive mood, Sunday is your last chance to catch a cheesy Christmas24 movie.
The first non-Christmas related item on the schedule for Movies24 is Groundswell, a rom-com that starts bright and early at 7am.
According to Sky‘s TV guide, Christmas24+ will offer two final chances to catch their seasonal content on Monday morning, with A Christmas In New Hope, followed by Three Wise Men And A Baby before the non-Christmas content kickstarts once again.
The changes mark the start of some more shake-ups happening later in the week.
Firstly, the rest of the Christmas channels will disappear.
This includes Great! Xmas, Great! Xmas HD, Great! Xmas+1 and That’s Christmas.
These will revert back to Great! Romance, Great! Romance HD, Great! Romance+1 and That’s TV 3 respectively.
Some channels on Sky satellite and Sky Glass will move too.
Sky Drama shifts from 310 to 302, while Sky Hits fills 303.
Sky Cinema Comedy moves to 308 and then Sky Best Of 2024 goes to 302.
