We’re identical twins & telepathy is real- there’s one sticky situation we always use it for to avoid embarrassment

A PAIR of identical twins have revealed that they have twin telepathy, and shared the sticky situation they always use it in.

Liz and Rose Conway, 27, are constantly getting mistaken for each other but have perfected a secret code, to make sure that people can always tell them apart.

They use plenty of tricks to make sure that people can tell them apart[/caption]

For example, in social situations, they always mention their twin early on, so the person they are speaking to knows that they are the other twin, without having to awkwardly ask.

“I’ll be like, ‘Rose isn’t here’, or ‘Rose, come over’, so that straight away, the person knows who I’m talking to,” said Liz, in a video posted to her TikTok channel.

The girls added, that if people get them mistaken for each other, they often just pretend to be each other, to avoid the person they’re speaking to getting embarrassed.

“I’ve pretended to be Liz on so many occasions,” Rose revealed.

“I’ve talked about living in Manchester, when I don’t live in Manchester, being a journalist, when I’m not a journalist.”

However, the twins admitted that this can turn into a sticky situation, when the real twin comes over and joins the conversation.

This is where the girls’ “twin-telepathy” comes in, as they are quickly able to work out what’s going on, and can just pretend to be the other twin.

Another thing the twins do to help people tell them apart, is always wear their hair in in different styles and wear different coloured clothes.

When Rose was younger, she was always dressed in the colour pink, due to her name, and she revealed that people always use this as a cue to tell her apart from her sister.

Therefore, she always tries to add a splash of pink to her outfits, to help people identify her.

The twins also used to wear necklaces with their initials on, which helped people to be able to tell them apart.

The video, posted under the username @elizabeth.conway_, has likely left many people intrigued, as it has racked up over 150,000 views on the video sharing platform.

TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts on the twins’ secret code.

One person said: “I’m an identical twin.

What are the different types of twins?

TWINS are when two children are produced in the same pregnancy.

They can be identical or different, and two boys, two girls, or a girl and a boy.

Twins are quite rare, but are usually born completely healthy

What are the different types of twins?

Monozygotic – identical twins (‘one cell’ twins)

Dizygotic – also known as ‘fraternal’, non identical twins. Babies are no more alike than siblings born at separate times, and they can be the same or different sexes

Conjoined twins – identical twins that are joined together. They are extremely rare, and it’s estimated they range from one in 49,000 to 189,000 births, although around half are stillborn, and one third die within 24 hours.

Can identical twins be two different sexes?
Identical twins are always of the same sex because they form from the same fertilised egg that contains either female or male chromosomes.

The single egg is divided into two separate embryos, and they occur in about three in every 1000 deliveries worldwide.

Therefore, boy/girl twins are always fraternal (or dizygotic), as their chromosomes are either XY (male) or XX (female).

What are Di Di twins?
Di Di stands for Dichronic Diamniotic, and they are the common type of twins.

They have their own amniotic sacs and placenta, so are just sharing the womb of the mother, and are therefore not identical.

There are few complications with Di Di twins, so have a good chance of being born completely healthy without intervention from your doctor.

Di di twins are more likely to be non-identical than identical.

“It’s so awkward when someone only knows my twin and not me, so I have no idea who I’m talking to.”

A second person said: “I work In a place with identical twins and I actively avoid both of them because I’m so scared I’ll get it wrong.”

A third person added: “That’s so thoughtful of you.

“I spoke to a girl once who didn’t tell me for 10 minutes she wasn’t the twin I knew, so these are really good points I’m sure people appreciate.”
