Two arrested in Troy on car theft charges
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Troy Police arrested two people on Wednesday after a vehicle theft investigation. Kieondre Dickson, 32, and Laquisha Wells, 40, both of Troy, are facing felony charges.
On January 1 around noon, officers located a car on Linden Avenue near Pawling Avenue that had been reported stolen out of Utica. Police conducted a traffic stop which resulted in the vehicle's two occupants, identified as Dickson and Wells, being taken into custody.
At the time of the arrests, Dickson was reportedly found to have a stolen illegal handgun and prepackaged cocaine. Further investigation revealed that Wells had five active warrants for her arrest. The two now face the following charges:
Kieondre Dickson
- Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon – loaded firearm
- Criminal possession of stolen property – vehicle
- Criminal possession of stolen property – firearm
- Criminal possession of a controlled substance – intent to sell
- Criminal possession of a narcotic drug
Laquisha Wells
- Criminal possession of stolen property – vehicle
Dickson and Wells were processed at TPD's Central Station before being arraigned at Troy City Court.
