Watch live: Las Vegas Police Department gives update on Cybertruck explosion
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) will brief the press Thursday afternoon on their investigation into a Tesla Cybertruck that exploded early Wednesday morning in front of President-elect Trump's international hotel.
The driver was found dead in the vehicle, which was reportedly rented from the car-sharing app Turo. He was identified by law enforcement as Matthew Alan Livelsberger, an active-duty soldier in the U.S. Army.
The explosion, caused by firework mortars and camp fuel canisters, injured at least seven others.
The LVMPD presser is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. EST.
