Eagle-eyed royal fans spot blunder in Meghan Markle’s New Year’s Instagram video as viewers blast ‘how many takes?’
EAGLE-eyed royal fans have spotted a blunder in Meghan Markle’s New Year’s Instagram post.
The Duchess of Sussex made a bombshell return to social media yesterday with a video of her running along a beach barefoot and writing 2025 in the sand.
In a new video Meghan bends down to write ‘2025’ in the sand[/caption] But eagle-eyed viewers spotted something in the video[/caption] The Duchess of Sussex is then seen smiling towards the camera[/caption]The unexpected clip, shared to Meghan’s Instagram, is her first personal online post in several years.
Meghan, 43, can be seen running towards the sea on a large beach in an all-white outfit during the footage.
She is then seen drawing the near-perfect cursive digits of the New Year – “2025” – into the sand, perhaps hinting an upcoming project.
However, eagle-eyed fans spotted a clue that suggested it was not the first time the mother-of-two wrote the numbers.
Early on in the video, when Meghan is trying to find the best spot to write the figures down, followers noticed her walk past another “2025” written in the sand, along with a number of footprints.
Multiple footprints in the left hand corner suggest several takes were needed to achieve the final, polished version.
A number of sharp viewers noted the previous marks on the sand and it soon sparked a discussion on social media.
One viewer wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Wonder how many it took to get the perfect shot?”
A second commented: “Well spotted, obviously need a few practice runs to get the light correct.”
Another said: “I thought she was known for her attention to detail.”
The video was reportedly filmed by her husband Prince Harry, 40, on a beach in Montecito, California, near the couple’s home.
It was uploaded at approximately 8am Montecito time on New Year’s Day.
The footage does not have any music – but background breeze can be heard.
The video was posted to her new personal Instagram page yesterday, which has the username @meghan and 787,000 followers at the time of writing.
Meghan’s new account has already achieved verified status on Instagram, receiving the platform’s blue tick on Thursday.
Meghan’s best friend, Daniel Martin, hailed the return with an Instagram post of his own, declaring “my sis is back!”
Hinting at a potential project, he added: “Watch this space…”
Another royal expert spoke to The Sun about how the video marks Meghan’s intentions for 2025.
It comes amid rumours Meghan will front her very own show celebrating “the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship” this year.
The series is reportedly being made to complement her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.
However, there has been little update on it, nor is there a release date in sight.
Meghan set to 'earn £800k per post' on Instagram
By Ryan Merrifield
Meghan Markle is set to earn £800,000 per post on her new Instagram account, it is claimed.
However, the Duchess of Sussex has reportedly switched comments off on her new Instagram account to avoid any backlash.
Meghan can then be seen drawing the digits 2025 into the sand while wearing an all-white ensemble.
She finally turns to the camera grins before playfully running away.
The clip was captioned simply “@meghan”.
Experts have previously estimated the former Hollywood actress, 43, could make $1milllion (£790,000) per post as “an absolute minimum”, reports MailOnline.
The launch of the duchess’ new account – replacing her old meghanmarkle Instagram which boasted 3 million followers – comes after the Sussexes swore to stay of social media.
The couple said they had had to deal with an “almost unsurvivable” amount of abuse.
The beach clip – Meghan’s first social media post in years – was uploaded on Wednesday but fans questioned why she’d turned off comments.
One person labelled her a “coward”, though many others showed support for the decision.
