Trump called out for 'intentionally lying' in his latest statement on New Orleans attack
Donald Trump continued to call out President Joe Biden's "open border policy" for allowing "Radical Islamic Terrorists" into the country, as authorities investigate the New Year's Eve terror attack that killed 15 and injured scores of others.
This, despite the fact that the driver of the pickup truck that plowed into the crowd on Bourbon Street — 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar — has been identified as a U.S. citizen of Texas. Jabbar was killed in a shootout with police that injured two officers, according to authorities.
Trump posted to TruthSocial on Thursday morning, "With the Biden 'Open Border’s Policy' I said, many times during Rallies, and elsewhere, that Radical Islamic Terrorism, and other forms of violent crime, will become so bad in America that it will become hard to even imagine or believe. That time has come, only worse than ever imagined. Joe Biden is the WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA, A COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISASTER. What he and his group of Election Interfering 'thugs' have done to our Country will not soon be forgotten! MAGA"

Authorities said Jabbar was heavily armed and in possession of an ISIS flag. Now, the FBI is trying to determine whether Jabbar was directed by the terrorist organization to carry out the attack.
In an address to the nation Wednesday, President Biden said Jabbar indicated in videos posted to social media that "he was inspired by ISIS, expressing a desire to kill."
On his X account, Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) called out Trump for "intentionally lying" about the incident as being caused by an illegal immigrant.
"Trump is intentionally lying about the attacker being an immigrant - he wasn’t," Murphy posted. "Why does it matter? Because he is going to use episodes of violence to justify his crack down on immigrants and his attack on dissent - whether the facts line up or not. This is just the start."
