‘Beautiful goodbye’: Barbie Forteza confirms breakup with Jak Roberto
MANILA, Philippines – Barbie Forteza confirmed her breakup with her longtime boyfriend, Jak Roberto, on Thursday, January 2.
In an Instagram post, the actress reminisced the seven years she and Roberto spent as a couple, bidding him a “beautiful goodbye.” The first two photos were from when she first teased her relationship with the actor in July 2017.
“Having you in my life was the happiest I had ever been. Seven wonderful years. A lot of laughs, a lot of ramen and so much love. Your love was exceptional. But sometimes, good things fall apart so better things can come together,” she wrote.
She then thanked Roberto for “loving [her] the way [he] did,” expressing her excitement for what else is to come for them both as individuals.
“You take care of yourself. May you find the love you deserve,” she continued.
The Pulang Araw star then asked for the public’s help to “put this matter to rest.”
Forteza’s last social media post with Roberto was just in December 2024, when she wrote a birthday message for the actor, reflecting on his accomplishments.
“Happy birthday, mahal ko (my love). I am so proud of all your accomplishments. I remember we’d always talk about your dreams of having your own house and managing your own business. Ngayon, unti-unti mong tinutupad ang mga pangarap mong ‘yon (Now, you’re slowly making those dreams come true) and I am so happy to have witnessed it myself,“ she captioned the December 2 post.
Forteza and Roberto met on the set of Meant to Be in 2017, where the former played Billie and the latter played Andoy.
Rumors of their relationship first sparked in July 2017, when Forteza posted a series of photos of her on a date with a mystery individual — who was later revealed to be Roberto. Weeks after the speculations began, the couple confirmed their relationship.
The ex-couple appeared in several other teleseryes together, such as Kara Mia and The Half Sisters.
As of this writing, Roberto has yet to comment on their breakup. – Rappler.com
