Pokémon TCG Pocket players are treated to three new events with free full art promo cards
POKÉMON TCG Pocket is always holding new events for players, but it’s rare that three events are taking place at the same time.
Before the end of the year, TCG Pocket launched an online battle event to celebrate the launch of the new Mythical Island expansion.
However, while this event is still ongoing until January 10, 2025, two more events and new Premium rewards have been made available to players.
The first event is a Solo Battle event, where players create different decks to play against the AI.
Blastoise is the current star of the Solo Battle event, and all of the decks you can play against feature Blastoise and other Water-type Pokémon.
There are a number of different rewards available as part of the event, but players are most interested in the five new promo cards you can grab, including a new full-art Blastoise card.
It also includes a new Snivy card and Eevee card that are different from the ones currently available.
Snivy is a particularly valuable find as it works as part of the current strongest deck, Celebi EX.
Here are the cards you can grab as part of the Blastoise Solo Battle event:
- Snivy
- Volcarona
- Eevee
- Cinccino
- Blastoise (full art)
More free cards can be grabbed as part of the New Year’s event which is open to all players of the game.
The first time you log in you can grab an adorable Pikachu full-art promo card, as well as a number of free Mythical Island booster packs.
You will also be able to grab hourglasses and a new backdrop depending on how many missions you complete.
Here are all the missions and rewards for the TCG Pocket New Year’s event:
- Log in – Pikachu promo card
- Participate in 1 battle – Mythical Island booster pack
- Participate in 3 battles – Mythical Island booster pack
- Use pack stamina to open 6 Mythical Island booster packs – Pack Hourglass x12
- Wonder Pick 5 times – Mythical Island booster pack
- Send 5 thanks – Mythical Island booster pack
- Collect 100 cards – Pack Hourglass x12
Finally, there are new rewards for Premium players starting in the new year.
The free card is a variant of the Moltres EX card that is a staple of most Fire-type decks.
Alongside the usual rewards such as hourglasses and Premium Shop Tickets for various missions, the Premium Shop items have changed.
The Mewtwo cosmetics have been replaced with a number of items featuring Charizard.
Here’s what you can grab in January with the Premium Pass:
- Pokémon Coin (Charizard) – 6 Premium Tickets
- Playmat (Charizard) – 12 Premium Tickets
- Card sleeve (Charizard) – 6 Premium Tickets
- Backdrop (Charizard) – 3 Premium Tickets
- Cover (Charizard) – 3 Premium Tickets
