The Traitors fans convinced show star has sealed their exit with ‘most unnecessary’ decision ever
THE Traitors fans have slammed the show for a “pointless” twist in the first show of the new series.
Series three started on New Year’s Day and saw three contestants kicked off in just five minutes – and one revealing she was pretending to be Welsh.
Charlotte revealed she’s actually English[/caption] Charlotte thought putting on a Welsh accent would make her seem friendlier[/caption]Business director Charlotte admitted she was really from Hampshire, despite initially claiming to be from Wales.
Despite this, the 32-year-old formed a friendship with fellow contestant Elen, who also happens to be a Welsh language translator from Cardiff.
During her confessional, Charlotte switched to her normal voice and explained that she hoped speaking with a Welsh accent would make her seem friendlier to other players.
But some viewers called her unusual tactic “pointless and unnecessary”, while others said she was “stupid”, and meeting Welsh speaker Elen will result in her downfall.
One said on Reddit: “Pretending to be welsh is one of the most bizarre game tactics even with the “most trusted accent” thing.”
While another added: “Pretending to be Welsh and immediately meeting a Welsh speaker is hilarious.”
And a third said: “Can’t get over how stupid this pretending to be Welsh thing is literally no benefit, will just show you’re a liar.”
Another posted on X: “Charlotte deciding to put on a Welsh accent is both the incredible game move on #TheTraitors yet… and the most foolish.
“I can’t wait for the episode where she reveals her real accent and everyone votes her off.”
And another believes Elen won’t be fooled by Charlotte’s approach.
They said: “Elen is a Welsh translator she’ll definitely suss Charlotte out with her fake Welsh accent.”
The first twist of the series was revealed just minutes into the episode, before host Claudia Winkleman revealed another.
The 25 Traitors heading to the castle in the Scottish Highlands by train were split into three carriages.
All the carriages stopped suddenly, before rolling backwards, and Claudia told contestants each carriage had to vote off one person.
Jack, Alexander and Fozia were voted off, although whether that spells the end of their time on the show altogether hasn’t been revealed.
The second huge twist revealed by Claudia is that contestants will no longer have to admit whether they are Faithful or a Traitor after being eliminated.
