NATIONAL SUMMARY
Cold air rushing over the Great Lakes today will create
bouts of lake-effect snow today. Some snow squalls can
create whiteout conditions and difficult travel. Elsewhere
in the East, snow showers will linger in New England, and it
will be mainly dry and breezy through the mid-Atlantic.
Another storm will bring a stripe of snow from Iowa to
Indiana. In the western part of the country, snow showers
will dot parts of the Rockies. The Pacific coast will be
mild as another storm brings rain to Oregon, Washington and
parts of Northern California. An area of high pressure in
the Southeast will help to keep the southern tier of the
country free from precipitation. The exception will be the
Texas Gulf coast where some showers and drizzle may occur.
