Fonda officials address modernizing water infrastructure
FONDA, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Due to recurring water line breaks, Fonda is seeking to improve its water system infrastructure to improve service and quality. In the village's December newsletter, officials highlighted priority replacement projects and how repairing the system is less disruptive and can enhance water reliability.
Route 5 West and Park Street are spots of recurring water line breaks. Officials said needed replacements include Route 5 West needing 3,750 feet of 12-inch water line , and 2,100 feet of 8-inch pipe on Park Street.
The modernization project also addresses underserved and deferred areas, such as Railroad Street, Route 334 for township users, and Veeder Street. Shut-off valves are also being added to the project key area outline.
The village said the investments are being made into the water line system. A complete breakdown of the modernization project can be found below.
