What's At Stake in the 2024 Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl between Boston College and Nebraska?
New York’s Yankee Stadium recently hosted 2024 World Series games, but it will next host a college football bowl game on Saturday, December 28.
This year’s Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl will feature Boston College facing off against Nebraska at 12 p.m. ET on ABC with Mike Monaco, Kirk Morrison and Dawn Davenport working on the broadcast.
The game, fascinatingly enough, features two programs coached by two NFL veterans.
Boston College is coming off a 7-5 season under first-year coach Bill O’Brien, who led the Eagles to bowl eligibility and can cap the season with a postseason win. O’Brien last spent time with the New England Patriots.
At Nebraska, former Carolina Panthers coach Matt Rhule is bowl-eligible for the first time in his two years in Lincoln. The 6-6 Cornhuskers improved by a game from the 2023 season but still went 3-6 in the Big Ten. A bowl game win would also give Nebraska a winning record to finish 2024.
O’Brien and Rhule have turned around programs in the past, the former at Penn State and the latter at Temple and Baylor. They’ll both now try to close out the 2024 season with something to build on for the future.
