Bank robbery prompts FBI investigation in Junction City
JUNCTION CITY (KSNT) - Federal agents are investigating a reported bank robbery in Junction City this week.
Bridget Patton with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said in a press release that a bank robbery was reported at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 27 at the Sunflower Bank at 510 North Jefferson Street in Junction City. According to a news release from the Junction City Police Department, a man approximately 6-feet tall, entered the bank, showed a firearm and demanded cash. The man was last seen wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans, cowboy boots, a black mask and a pink backpack.
Patton said the man fled the area on foot with an unknown amount of cash. The suspect's face was covered during the incident and no injuries were reported.
The Junction City Police Department urges anyone with information about this individual to
contact the Junction City Police Department at (785) 762-5912, Crime Stoppers at (785) 762-
8477, the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (225-5324), or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.
Tipsters can remain anonymous.
If you believe you have located the suspect, do not approach. Contact the Junction City Police
Department immediately.
