'Why put yourself through that torture?' Kari Lake says she won't run again
Kari Lake has lost two campaigns in a row and said she probably won't run again.
Speaking to the far-right TurningPoint USA conference last weekend, the Arizona Republic quoted Lake telling the crowd, “I am gonna go help President Trump in Washington, D.C. That’s what I’m gonna do."
Lake spent several years claiming Trump won Arizona in 2020 and the election was stolen. Then, when she lost in the governor's race in 2022, she used the same idea to claim that her election was "rigged" too.

“We’re not where we need to be on elections. And that’s one of the reasons I don’t want to run again, to be honest. Why put yourself through that torture again?” Lake said.
Trump indicated he would tap Lake to lead the federal broadcasting agency Voice of America.
“Thankfully, President Trump’s victory, it was too big to rig,” she continued, parroting Trump's 2024 catchphrase to encourage his flock to the polls.
The day after Lake's comments, Trump endorsed Karrin Taylor Robson for governor in 2026. Taylor hasn't declared she's running. Robson lost to Lake in the 2022 primary for the governor's seat.
