You’ll Never Believe Who Is Responsbile for Steph Curry’s Shooting
“Anybody that knows me knows that I don’t claim the shit I do,” Katt Williams explained on a recent episode of the Good One podcast, recorded live at Vulture Festival in November. “But,” he continued, “I am responsible for the greatest shooter in the NBA, without question.”
Specifically, he’s referring to a question about his relationship with Golden State Warrior superstar Steph Curry. He then shared the story behind this exceptional claim, which began when Curry played in a couple of celebrity basketball games that Williams organized. “People miss-say his name, don’t nobody know who he is, nobody cheers when we say his name,” Williams said of the NCAA scoring champion. But Curry was so impressive in those games that, according to Williams, he told the future MVP that the NBA wasn’t ready for his shooting skills. “If you can shoot before people can start defense,” he advised Curry, “you’ll be the greatest shooter that ever lived.”
Williams began the story by saying, “The jury will decide whether or not I’m being facetious.” You can hear the whole case — and settle on a verdict — in the video below:
