One dead after crash in Great Barrington
GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. (NEWS10)-- Great Barrington Police are investigating a fatal single-car crash near 140 Monument Valley Road. The driver, Louis Muller, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, officers responded to a crash around 6 p.m. on Thursday. A preliminary investigation found Muller's 2015 GMC pickup truck was traveling southbound when he left the roadway and hit an embankment, causing the truck to roll over.
Police said there were no other people or cars involved in the crash. Great Barrington Police and the District Attorney's Investigative Unit are working with the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstructive Unit to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash.
"Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Louis during this difficult time," the police department said.
The Great Barrington Fire Department and the Southern Berkshire Ambulance Squad assisted police at the scene. The Stockbridge Police Department was also dispatched to the accident.
