Ice at Canalside open with extended holiday hours
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Families who are looking for something fun to finish the rest of the holiday break with are encouraged to head to the Ice at Canalside.
"It really brings together the Buffalo community, it's fun to see people laughing, talking, hanging out and just enjoying what I also love to do as well," said Brigid Burns the marketing and promotion coordinator at the Buffalo Waterfront. "I definitely encourage families to come out and enjoy the ice at Canalside."
On top of ice skating, there's times where they offer ice bumper cars, curling, ice biking, igloo rentals and more activities for all ages to enjoy.
"I think having somewhere fun to go in the winter, somewhere that has a lot of offerings is very important to bring people together in the community, especially when it's cold outside, you know we still love to brace the chill, and by having this as a fun outdoor option is great," said Burns.
During the holiday break, they're also offering their new shuttle service that has pick up spots throughout the area of Canalside.
"It's important because it allows someone to have transportation to go to the ice at Canalside, or Explore & More, or a couple of different favorite restaurants they they have not been able to before," said Burns. "Get the ride, hop off and enjoy your time down here."
The shuttle is free, runs in fifteen minute intervals, and runs 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. They plan to offer the shuttle service through Sunday.
