Fire breaks out near Bryant Park ice skating rink in Midtown
MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – A fire broke out at a restaurant near the Bryant Park ice skating rink on Friday morning, officials said.
CitizenApp video of the scene shows clouds of black smoke billowing from the flames. Photos of the aftermath show the charred remains of multiple pop-up vendors at the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park.
Fire officials said the FDNY responded to the incident at 40 West 40th St. between Fifth and Sixth Avenues just before 9:30 a.m.
No injuries have been reported despite the area being busy amid the holiday season.
It marks the second fire at a holiday market this season after electrical wiring sparked a fire at the Herald Square Holiday Market on Dec. 16.
