Wamego theatre showing student-ran 'Snow White' production
WAMEGO (KSNT)—The Columbian Theatre in Wamego will host a student-run production of "The Tale of Snow White" early next year.
The Columbian Theatre announced in a press release on Dec. 26 that this adaptation of "Snow White" will be a humorous showing with new characters and twists. The theatre said it allows young artists to share their creativity, confidence and sense of community.
"We meet a gaggle of forest animals, friendly Dwarf Villagers, a troupe of ladies-in-waiting with a penchant for limericks, the Huntsman’s squabbling conscience, and even a nerdy governmental representative from the Department of Natural Resources trying to keep the forest dwellers from ruining the environment," the Columbian Theatre wrote in a press release.
This production is part of the Winter Theatre Academy in Wamego. Since starting this program, the production has grown from 25 kids to 36.
The show will be held at:
- 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan 31.
- 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1.
- 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb 2.
