Nintendo fans’ five favourite Switch games that launched in 2024
FANS have been complaining that Nintendo hasn’t launched any killer games for the Switch this year, but we would disagree.
While we haven’t seen any big new Mario or Pokémon games, there are plenty of standout games for Switch players to enjoy.
If you have a Nintendo Switch and are looking for a new release to play we have the games for you.
Here are the five best Nintendo Switch games released in 2024.
5. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
The Thousand-Year Door made a spectacular comeback this year[/caption]Sometimes you just can’t beat the classics, and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is one of the most popular Nintendo games of all time.
This turn-based RPG take on Nintendo’s popular franchise, features memorable characters, quirky humour, and challenging boss fights.
The latest release doesn’t change up much from the original, but it’s perfect for those who haven’t experienced this gem before.
You can read more about the game in our Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door review.
4. Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club
The Famicom Detective Club also made a comeback, this time in an all-new story[/caption]Famicom Detective Club was considered a dead series as the last entry was released in the West back in 1989.
35 years later, it has made a comeback with the chillingly dark story of Emio – The Smiling Man.
You work as a private detective as you gather clues that you hope will solve not only a recent murder, but a number of 18-year-old cold cases.

3. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Echoes of Wisdom lets you play as Zelda for the first time[/caption]Princess Zelda takes on the role of the protagonist for the first time since her name was used in the title in 1986.
Unlike Link, who wields a sword, Zelda carries the Tri Rod, which can copy echoes of items around her to help her forge a path forward.
Bringing a new twist on top-down Zelda games, you won’t be able to slash your way through this one.

2. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Prince of Persia was one of our favourite games of the year[/caption]Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the best metroidvania of the year and was built with the Switch in mind.
The huge world slowly unfurls before you, with extremely challenging platforming sections for those who dare to try.
If you prefer the combat or exploration, its wide range of accessibility options will allow you to tailor the world to your whims.

Unicorn Overlord is a must-play for all Switch fans[/caption]Vanillaware never misses, and Unicorn Overlord is not only a beautiful work of art, but one of the best RTS RPGs out there.
Recruit over 50 characters to form small armies and discover touching stories with each one as you explore the world.
Not only is the overarching story fantastic, but your heart will be warmed as you learn more about your friends.
