12/26/2024: A couple more cold, quiet days
The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
High pressure in control today keeps us dry and calm with more sun that clouds - but it'll still be chilly for a few days longer.
Expect high temperatures in the mid to upper 20's for most. Some in the Catskills, Mid-Hudson Valley, and Berkshires may get to the low 30's.
Another very cold one tonight, with mostly clear skies and lows in the single digits for the vast majority of the region. At least there won't be wind to make it feel any colder!
Tomorrow will feature a few more clouds, though there will still be breaks of sun. High temperatures look much the same, in the upper 20's for most.
Saturday bring us our next chance at precipitation - though it won't be snow! Instead, there will be showers and pockets of freezing rain late in the morning. Watch for slick and slippery spots!
Temperatures surge to around 50 for Sunday and Monday afternoons, with a bigger system bringing widespread, steady rain. Much of the snow that's currently on the ground will melt away, so enjoy the winter wonderland scenes while we've still got them!
Tuesday looks dry, but still warm - expect highs in the mid 40's with mostly cloudy skies. Another system moves in for New Year's Eve on Wednesday with rain and snow showers.
