Where to celebrate New Year's Eve in Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — If socializing more is one of your resolutions for 2025, you’re in luck. Portland groups — including restaurants, nonprofits and arcades — are throwing New Year’s Eve celebrations for (almost) every kind of person.
Here is a variety of festivities to consider for the holiday, ranging from free to more pricey parties.
Sobriety Powwow
When: Tuesday, Dec. 31 starting at 1 p.m.
Where: Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland, OR 97232
With NYE being a popular holiday to knock back alcoholic drinks, the Native American Rehabilitation Association of the Northwest offers a powwow for sober people who still want to celebrate the new year. The free event includes youth activities, Aztec dancers and raffles.
Tallulah’s Daddy and Zazzy Zoe New Year’s Eve
When: Tuesday, Dec. 31 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Mississippi Pizza Pub, 3552 N Mississippi Ave, Portland, OR 97227
If anyone is looking for family-friendly festivities, Mississippi Pizza Pub is holding a daytime party complete with performances from Tallulah's Daddy and Zazzy Zoe. Entry costs $12.
QuarterWorld NYE Extravaganza 2025
When: Tuesday, Dec. 31 through Wednesday, Jan. 1 from 7 p.m. – 1 a.m.
Where: QuarterWorld, 4811 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland, OR 97215
For the eighth year, QuarterWorld will do a balloon drop to ring in 2025. In addition to its many games, the arcade will showcase a DJ and offer drink specials. General admission tickets cost $10. For VIPs, $50 tickets include free play on all games until close.
NYE Espectacular with DJ Anjali & The Kid at Bar Carlo
When: Tuesday, Dec. 31 through Wednesday, Jan. 1 from 8 p.m. – 1 a.m.
Where: Bar Carlo, 6433 SE Foster Rd, Portland, OR 97206
DJs Anjali and The Incredible Kid will spin global sounds at this party hosted by Mexican-American restaurant Bar Carlo. The party’s $80 ticket includes appetizers and a champagne toast. The event will also feature tarot card readings and a photo booth.
Champagne Ball
When: Tuesday, Dec. 31 through Wednesday, Jan. 1 from 8 p.m. – 1 a.m.
Where: Hyatt Regency Portland, 375 NE Holladay St, Portland, OR 97232
After a couple of years at the Portland Art Museum, the city’s longest-running NYE party will return to Hyatt Regency Portland. The black-tie celebration will feature live performances, DJs, karaoke and an appearance from KOIN 6’s Ken Boddie. Tickets for the 21+ event start at $125.
Punch Bowl Social NYE Bash
When: Tuesday, Dec. 31 starting at 9 p.m.
Where: 340 SW Morrison St Suite 4305, Portland, OR 97204
Punch Bowl Social promises “pour Decisions, perfect night” for the holiday. For $40 in advance and $60 at the door, the gastropub and gaming spot will welcome attendees with jello shots before offering other “complimentary party favors.”
Darcelle XV New Year’s Eve Party
When: Tuesday, Dec. 31 through Wednesday, Jan. 1 from 9 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.
Where: 208 NW 3rd Ave, Portland, OR 97209
This historic drag club will close 2024 with its own cast of performers, along with special guests, party favors” and a champagne toast. Darcelle XV’s 21+ NYE extravaganza is priced at $40.
