The most shocking Masked Singer reveals of all time from huge rapper to A-list actor
It’s the most eccentric show on telly with versions all over the world, but can you guess who’s behind the mask from these clues?
Dragon (US 2020)
Dragon’s fiery cover of fellow rapper LL Cool J’s Mama Said Knock You Out got the panel on their feet – and the best thing was he made no effort to disguise his voice.
But he still fooled the panel. While Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger had an inkling, Jenny McCarthy was close by guessing DMX… and Ken Jeong was way out with Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps.
It was lucky that Nicole got it right as the two had worked together on one of the Pussycat Dolls’ biggest hits.
Who’s that behind the mask? The Pussycat Dolls’ Don’t Cha rapper Busta Rhymes.
Viking (UK, 2021)
The panel tried to figure out who the hairy hunk in the helmet was[/caption]Rita Ora’s guess of Bear Grylls wasn’t the worst as the panel tried to figure out who the hairy hunk in the helmet was. But that’s only because guest judge Alan Carr plumped for Brendan from Coach Trip. Jonathan Ross aimed high with Taron Egerton, while the panel were stuck on Chris Evans for a bit.
Viking’s slowed-down version of A-ha’s Take On Me sounded oddly familiar and his riff on Harry Styles’ Watermelon Sugar and Coldplay’s The Scientist showed his range.
Who’s that behind the mask? It’s A-ha singer Morten Harket.
Snail (US version 2021)
When Snail was unmasked the panel were confused because they couldn’t immediately see him[/caption]What could be more perfect than a snail singing Hall and Oates’ You Make My Dreams Come True? This little green superstar is a born entertainer and a true A-lister, so it was a shock when he was eliminated first.
Robin thought he was Seth McFarlane, while Nicole plumped for Billy Crystal. But when the big reveal came Ken described Snail as “the most famous guest on The Masked Singer ever.”
When Snail was unmasked, the panel were confused because they couldn’t immediately see him, but only because he’s so small.
Who’s that behind the mask? Legendary Muppet Kermit the Frog.
Doughnuts (UK, 2022)
Doughnuts sang Five’s Everybody Get Up that gave him the chance to show off his fancy footwork and questionable rapping[/caption]This striking singer treated the panel to a bit of Spice Girls’ Spice Up Your Life, but it was Five’s Everybody Get Up that gave him the chance to show his fancy footwork and questionable rapping skills.
Mo Gilligan was convinced it was jockey Frankie Dettori standing on a couple of doughnuts before hitting the jackpot with his next guess, while Davina McCall wasn’t a million miles away with Robbie Fowler. Always the detective, Rita guessed ‘a good friend of mine’ Nick Grimshaw and Jonathan went for Gary Lineker.
Who’s that behind the mask? Former footballer Michael Owen.
Burger Gal (Australia 2023)
This was this celebrity’s third time on The Masked Singer[/caption]Burger Gal comes from a superstar family and she clearly relished her time on The Masked Singer. Her version of Call Me Maybe was a bop, but she was eliminated after singing Doja Cat and SZA’s Kiss Me More. Yes, both parts. Ironically for someone with such a meaty costume, Burger Gal is vegetarian.
It was this celebrity’s third time behind the mask as she’d also been spotted in the US and Spanish versions of the show. Only Mel B guessed her identity, with other panellists going for Snooki and Julia Stiles.
Who’s that behind the mask? Famous sibling La Toya Jackson.
Russian Dolls (US, 2021)
There was a family trio inside this massive costume[/caption]There wasn’t just one but three celebrities in these massive costumes.
Not massive enough to contain the entire cast of Glee, as Nicole guessed.
This family trio showed off their impressive vocals on Michael Jackson’s Man in the Mirror, Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic and harmonised their way through Elton John’s I’m Still Standing.
Robin thought it was the Black-Eyed Peas and Jenny McCarthy went for Boyz II Men. Ambitiously, Ken thought the Jonas Brothers were piled up in there. Getting warm…
Who’s that behind the mask? It’s those MMMBop brothers, Hanson.
Anonymouse (US 2023)
When this former child star performed Heart’s What About Love? she rocked that power ballad, so it was clear she was a proper singer. Not just that, but a guest vocalist on a UK number one single.
Robin was on to her straightaway, but Jenny thought it was Miley Cyrus. Hmm… close. Ken tried to manifest Kelly Clarkson and had high hopes of Lady Gaga
Who’s that behind the mask? Singer, songwriter, actress, icon: Demi Lovato.
Gremlin (US 2020)
Gremlin remains the only person on the show to ever unmask himself[/caption]This Oscar nominee broke The Masked Singer rules by whipping off his hairy head because he was too hot, making the whole panel scream.
Before that, the actor delivered a gravelly and enjoyably shambolic version of the soul classic Stand By Me that gave Robin hints of Jerry Lee Lewis, while Jenny was spot on with her guess.
He remains the only person on the show to ever unmask himself, showing what a rebel he is.
Who’s that behind the mask? Treasured hellraiser Mickey Rourke.
