Full list of shops NOT taking part in Boxing Day sales this year
SHOPPERS will be getting ready for a mega Boxing Day as retailers slash prices on thousands of items.
However, some retailers won’t be wheeling out the discount stickers and money-off signs.
We reveal the list of retailers not taking part in the Boxing Day sale[/caption]Not all stores jump on the Boxing Day deals bandwagon, choosing instead to offer savings all year round.
There are still plenty of retailers carrying out the post-Christmas discounts, which you can check out here.
But we have rounded up all the shops not taking part this year so you can be prepared before your next outing to the high street.
Primark
Primark has over 200 stores in the UK and is loved by shoppers for its affordable clothes, beauty and homeware items.
It’s for that reason it does not do Boxing Day sales or Black Friday or Cyber Monday discounts.
Shoppers do report spotting discounted items in stores throughout the year, so keep your eyes peeled.
Stylist Lisa Talbot previously told The Sun: “Typically we get the big seasonal sales just before and after mid summer and Christmas, but to be honest, you’re never more than a few weeks away from Primark’s next store clear-out.”
“With such a fast turnaround of stock, mainly weekly, Primark pretty much has a section for sale items throughout the year as a way of moving through stock fast and making way for new collections that come into store.”
Check out her tips for finding the ”secret” sales, including the locations most shoppers walk past.
Home Bargains
The budget-friendly homeware store offers discounts all year round, so tends to steer clear of traditional sales events.
Black Friday or Cyber Monday are also off the calendar for the bargain shop too.
But that does not mean you can’t nab a bargain with the retailer regularly knocking the price of items in store.
TK MAXX
TK Maxx is a haven for savvy retailers looking to buy designer goods for a fraction of the price.
For example, shoppers can currently pick up a Gucci cross-body bag for £799.99, when it would cost £1,340 at the standard retail price.
There is also a chance to buy a Swarovski Silver Tone Bow Bracelet for £24.99, making it 75% off its original retail price of £74.
That’s good news as it means shoppers can get mega discounts all year round.
Plus that’s why it doesn’t take part in the traditional Boxing Day sales – and hasn’t done for the past four years.
Tom Church from the Latest Deals website previously told The Sun: “In the past, TK Maxx explicitly said it doesn’t do Black Friday. Then they realised people stopped coming to the store that day.
“So they started to say ‘60% off RRP for Black Friday,’ which is the same deal they do all year round.
“The same is true for Christmas and January sales.”
That said, while you might not get better deals during the Christmas sales, TK Maxx will have more stock, offering you a greater choice.
How to shop around for the best bargain
When hunting for a deal, it is important to shop around to make sure you are not being overcharged.
There are plenty of comparison websites that will check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.
Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.
For example, Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
Price Spy also logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets.
Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
How to save money on Christmas shopping
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping.
Limit the amount of presents – buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.
Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you’re not having to buy multiple presents.
Plan ahead – if you’ve got the stamina and budget, it’s worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales.
Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you’re not forking out more than you should though.
Buy in Boxing Day sales – some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25.
Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent.
Shop via outlet stores – you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.
They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.
