Clifton Park fire displaces over 30 residents
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A fire in the electrical room of Fox Run Apartments displaced 32 residents on Christmas morning. The American Red Cross provided emergency assistance on Wednesday morning.
Vischer Ferry Fire District Chief Tim Kimball said the fire started around 2:45 a.m. and was put out by 5 p.m. He also said the entire electrical panel needs to be replaced, which could take months.
Fire damage was limited to the electrical room and a room next door, and an apartment above the room sustained water damage. Even though most of the apartments are undamaged, residents cannot move back in until the electrical panel is replaced.
The fire is still under investigation.
