Former Cub Patrick Wisdom signed a one-year deal for $1 million with the Kia Tigers of the KBO, per Jeeho Yoo of YonHap News. Wisdom finished fourth in NL Rookie of the Year voting in 2021 and continued to be an above-average hitter in 2022 and 2023, but struggled to a .171/.237/.392 line in 174 plate appearances in 2024.

1935: Original Met Al Jackson was born in Waco, Texas. Jackson, despite only having a 43-80 record in his six seasons with the Amazin’s, led the franchise in wins until Tom Seaver overtook the mark in 1969. The southpaw went on to win the 1967 World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals after his first stint with the Mets. He would then return and play for the Mets in 68′ and the first part of the 69′ season, before finishing his career with the Reds in 1969.
