Topeka boutique helps last-minute shoppers this season
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Plenty of people were out in a last-minute shopping scramble this Christmas Eve, and one Topeka boutique helped locals find the gifts they need for Christmas Day.
The Brookwood Shopping Center has seen lots of shoppers leading up to the big holiday. Linen Tree and Co. has seen a record number of customers in the past few days. Owner Kelly Schuster told 27 News the business is constantly battling online retailers, as it seems to be the go-to for many people.
With people out and about, it's a great compliment to know some of them still want to support small businesses.
"They shop with us all year long," Schuster said. "And that's what's so important when you're talking about small business, is that we appreciate everything at Christmas time, holiday time, but, you know, we need shoppers all year long to support small business."
If you're still in the shopping mood after Christmas, the store will open again on Friday, Dec. 27 for its "after Christmas sale."
