Full list of Barclays bank stores that will close in January 2025
Barclays has announced it will axe several branches across UK towns.
The banking giant is said to be closing at least seven branches in the UK after Christmas.
Barclays – which recorded around £6.5 billion profits before tax last year – will close the first set of branches in January.
It is part of a plan to close 99 sites in 2024 and 2025, according to BirminghamLive.
Now seven branches have been confirmed for closure which is likely to come as a shock for customers who rely on in-person services.
Here are the confirmed January 2025 closures and dates when the branches will bid farewell.
Barnard Castle – 1 Market Place, England, DL12 8NF – January 17, 2025
Cockermouth – 30 Main Street, England, CA13 9LQ – January 17, 2025
Pickering – 41 Market Place, England, YO18 7AE – January 17, 2025
Tredegar – 21-22 Castle Street, Wales, NP22 3DF – January 17, 2025
Ystrad Mynach – 27 Bedwlwyn Road, Wales, CF82 7AA – January 17, 2025
St Neots – 41 High Street, England, PE19 1AS – January 30, 2025
It comes after other high street banks have been busy closing branches in a bid to move services online.
Lloyds Banking Group announced last month it will close another 164 branches between 2024 and 205.
More than 6,000 banks have shut for good in the past nine years, leaving many communities cut off from cash services and even without a free ATM.
