ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Happy Monday! Meteorologist Kevin Appleby says temperatures will climb into the teens this Monday with more clouds and snow showers developing after midnight.
The pilot of the plane that landed on the Thruway in Albany has been identified. Also, a missing person was found by the Washington County Sheriff's Office after a fatal fall on Black Mountain in Dresden. These stories, and more, are in your five things to know this Monday.
1. Pilot of plane that landed on Thruway identified
New York State Police have identified the pilot of a small twin-engine plane that landed on the Thruway on Friday. Police said Logan M. Steed, 19, of Winnsboro, South Carolina, landed the aircraft on the northbound lane near Exit 23 in Albany.
2. Missing person found after fatal fall on Black Mountain
Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident on Black Mountain in Dresden that fatally injured a missing person out of Castleton, Vermont. Deputies said they received calls about the missing person’s vehicle at the Black Mountain trailhead on Sunday.
3. Hochul grants clemency to 22
Gov. Kathy Hochul granted clemency to 22 people on December 19, with one sentence commuted and the rest pardoned. She has granted clemency to 94 people in total since taking office in 2021.
4. Greenfield woman sentenced 5 years for assaulting a cop
A Saratoga County judge sentenced a Greenfield woman convicted of assault on Tuesday. The Saratoga County District Attorney’s office said Theresa Travis, 44, pleaded guilty to second-degree assault in October for the hit-and-run of a Saratoga Springs Police Department officer.
5. Last steel beam placed in Albany International project
Albany International Airport is another step closer to completing its terminal expansion project. On Saturday, crews placed the final steel beam for the new departure hall.
