Shooting in Williamstown, Mass. leaves one injured
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (NEWS10)-- Williamstown police are investigating a shooting that happened Sunday morning. One person was transported to the Berkshire Medical Center, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Around 10:15 a.m., Williamstown Police and Massachusetts State Police responded to reports of a person shot at 330 Cole Avenue. A preliminary investigation determined the incident was specific and targeted, police reported.
The person is expected to survive. The person's identity will be released at a later time, in respect to the victim's family, the Berkshire District Attorney's Office said.
According to police, there is no threat to the general public, but no arrests have been made. The shooting remains under investigation.
