'Doesn't have a soul': Man charged with kidnapping woman from Newcastle casino
NEWCASTLE, Okla. (KFOR) — The Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office has filed charges against a man accused of kidnapping a woman at a casino in Newcastle last month.
Court documents allege the incident happened at the Newcastle Casino on November 25 and that the victim told police that, after getting into Kevin Martin's vehicle, he wouldn't let her out.
She told police Martin took her purse from her and searched it, removing a knife in the purse and putting it under his seat.
"We've got shady, shady people you know, it's just scary," said neighbor, Lynell Fisbeck.
After allegedly putting the knife under his seat, court papers say the victim told police Martin told her she would prostitute for him now. He further explained that her body belonged to him.
She said she believed that to mean he was going to force her to prostitute against her will and that he would be keeping all of the proceeds.
After leaving the casino, documents say Martin drove to the Oklahoma City metro, where the victim said he forced her to perform a sexual act. Martin also took the victim to her residence, allegedly telling her she needed to get her money because she was going to have to give it to him. Documents say Martin took an article of her clothing believing that it would force her to come back to his vehicle while she went inside alone.
"It's got to be scary and change her outlook," said Fisbeck.
Court papers say once inside of her home, the victim notified a friend about the crime, and the friend called police to help her escape her captor.
Martin had a prior felony arrest for domestic abuse by strangulation and has a prior pending case for human trafficking in Oklahoma County.
"He doesn't have a soul to be, to have, to even care what anybody thinks," said Fisbeck. "I don't think you can say anything to people that have that mentality. You know, they're going to do what they're going to do."
