According to eBay, searches for “Juan Soto” on the site increased by 380% on December 9, the day after his deal was announced with the Mets, compared to the week of December 1-7. Soto’s signing also has done wonders for the team’s ticket sales, with season-ticket sales and renewal numbers soaring to new heights, Mets senior vice president of ticketing Jake Bye told Newsday recently. On the Mets’ team store website, Soto’s jerseys, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and autographed bats and baseballs are all in high demand – some of which are running low on stock.
