TRAGIC DISCOVERY Baby boy found dead in caravan as cops arrest man, 41, over ‘child neglect’
A MAN has been arrested after a four-month-old baby boy was found dead in a caravan in Devon.
The 41-year-old was detained on suspicion of child neglect following the grim discovery in Plymouth on Wednesday.
Police had been called to the address following concerns for the welfare of the occupants.
Devon and Cornwall Police said a Plymouth man was arrested for criminal offences, including child neglect, before being bailed as inquiries continue.
Det Insp Dave Egan said: “The death of a young baby is devastating and our thoughts are with his family at this awful time.
“A criminal investigation has been launched following the death and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and how the death has occurred.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or via the police website quoting log 365 of December 18th.”
