Build it and they will come... An old blokes view (9 replies)
First post in awhile due to not being able to access account.
Well were almost half way through the season and its all looking good. Hope has returned and for that I am grateful.
After a decade of mostly misery its a joy to be watching Blues and going to a packed St.Andrews. Mostly because I'm walking up Kingston Hill actually looking forward to the game.
First game 1971 and over the years I've had the phrase "Typical Blues" conditioned into me. This season is obviously different and is probably the most "Untypical Blues" I've known in 53 years of being a fan. Our fans, the numbers attending.... Its surreal.
Yup was there during the dark days of the late 80s and early 90s and this is nothing like that.
This is what I mean by "Untypical Blues". Rather than standing in an empty ground I'm sitting with 25K+ fellow fans belting out Keep Right On and feel like Im that young kid sitting on the fence at the front of The Kop in the early 70s.
Our fans (You lot) are my kinda people and the gang mentality is back on and off the pitch. Its been a long long time since I've had that feeling. We are one again.
The moral of the story. Love this club unconditionally always have and always will. I'd just forgotten how much I love our fans too. The Historians in B6 would never understand.
Each and everyone of you should be proud, stand tall and give yourselves a huge pat on the back for your support this season.
I've not had goosebumps singing KR0 since that day out at Wembley in 2011 and our Euro adventure the following season .... Thank you all.
Happy Christmas
