Fearne Cotton reveals her tumour scars for the first time after surgery
FEARNE Cotton has given an emotional update on her road to recovery following surgery to remove tumours in her jaw.
Podcaster Fearne shared some candid snaps of the gradual stages of healing after the procedure – and proudly showed off the scars that she’s left with.
The former TOTP presenter thanked her body and penned a heartfelt message to her followers – displaying the scars by her ear.
The wellness guru told fans on social media: “The human body is incredible. In less than three weeks you can barely notice where I had the tumour removed. I feel almost normal.
“My ear is still quite numb and my face a little tender but other than that I’m feeling good.
“Only swipe if you want to see the gradual stages of healing. It’s not massively gruesome but it certainly looks worse than photo number 1.
“I found the whole process fascinating and feel very grateful that the operation went well and that the tumour was benign.
“My surgeon Professor O’Flynn made me feel extremely calm and all the nurses were complete angels.
“Nurse Jackie was especially amazing whilst I was in hospital telling me to get off my phone and nap etc. I needed a firm telling off at times.”
The mum-of-two concluded: “Feeling grateful that I’m healing well and will always wear this scar with pride. A reminder to slow down and look after myself.”
The TV presenter revealed recently that she would undergo an operation to remove two benign growths from her face.
In the video shared on Instagram, the 43-year-old said: “I’ve got a benign tumour just in my jaw here, below my ear, another little tiny one above it.
“I’m very grateful they’re benign but they do need to come out because they’re on a nerve.
“So I’m gonna have that surgery, and then I’m gonna be resting to get better before Christmas.”
She added: “Turns out it’s a benign tumour and another small one above it on the saliva gland.”
In 2011 Fearne started dating musician Jesse Wood, whose accolades include being a former member of Reef, who are known for hits like Place Your Hands.
Jesse and Fearne went on to tie-the-knot in 2014 in a intimate ceremony attended by celeb pals including Denise van Outen, Holly Willoughby, and Keith Lemon.
The couple welcomed their first child together, Rex, in 2013, followed by daughter, Honey, in 2015
Just after celebrating their 10-yaer anniversary, Fearne shared on Instagram that she’s calling time of her marriage, the announcement came just 10 days after her shock at finding two benign tumours on her jawline.
Addressing their surprise split, Fearne said: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage.
“Our priority has been and always will be our children.
“We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.”
