Hazmat incident sends 3 to hospital at Coxsackie Correctional Facility
COXSACKIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Three staff members at Coxsackie Correctional Facility were taken to the hospital on Friday due to a hazmat incident, said the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS).
According to DOCCS, a staff member working in the mail room opened a letter and began to feel sick. Three other nearby staff members also felt nauseous.
Greene County Hazmat was called to the prison. Three of the four staff members were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The investigation remains ongoing.
