Man accused of stealing $1.2 million worth of equipment turns himself in to Sherwood police
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Wilsonville man accused of stealing $1.2 million worth of equipment turned himself in on Thursday morning, authorities said.
Adrian Cooper, 36, is a former warehouse manager for Okonite Manufacturing in Sherwood.
According to the Sherwood Police Department, Cooper is accused of stealing and reselling the equipment back in April while still employed by the company, which manufactures underground wiring for public utilities.
On Tuesday, police announced that a grand jury indicted Cooper on multiple charges related to the alleged theft and said he was still at large. The charges include 10 counts of aggravated first-degree theft and two counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle.
In a Facebook post, the Sherwood Police Department thanked members of the public for sharing the information and for those who provided tips leading up to Cooper's surrender.
