I thought I’d bought a cute dress for my Christmas parties… but trolls say I look like ‘a used tampon’ & bulb of GARLIC
A FASHIONISTA has left people in hysterics after sharing her epic Christmas party dress fail.
With the festive season in full swing, many fashion lovers have been racing to snap up the ultimate frocks and sparkly outfits to enjoy the holidays with a tipple and pigs in blankets.
Some insisted she looked like a bulb of garlic, others – like a ‘used tampon’[/caption]However, for one style lover, Naomi Price, the search for the perfect Christmas dress went horribly wrong after she was left looking like a used sanitary product.
According to to the blonde stunner and Fashion Nova ambassador, she had spotted a white peplum-style frock online and decided to order it.
In her head, Naomi had envisioned pairing the trendy balloon-shaped garment with black tights and heels – perfect for stealing the show at any party.
Sadly for the fashionista, the final fit couldn’t have been any further from what Naomi had imagined, as she took to TikTok to share the hilarious fail.
Posing with the creased sleeveless mini dress, Naomi looked visibly disappointed, as she admitted: ”This outfit did NOT look like how it looked in my head.
”I’m sorry but it looked so good on the website, wth,” the horrified fashion lover went on in the caption.
Since being posted on her page, which boasts close to 245k followers, the clip has gone viral with over 4.3million views and thousands of comments.
In stitches, hundreds flooded to share their best jokes, with one person comparing the outfit to a rather unfortunate similarity Naomi was unlikely to have hoped for.
”Nah it looks like a tampon after you pull it out.”
Another chimed in, commenting: ”I love the garlic fit.”
”okay toilet brush!” a third chimed in.
”You know when you roll the toilet paper back around the tube?” someone else said.
Christmas Fashion Tips from an Expert
CLEMMIE Fieldsend, Fashion Editor at Fabulous, has shared her top tips for looking fabulous this Christmas.
AVOID: Christmas jumpers
No longer a novelty gag, they’re now gone back to being naff and have no place at a festive party.
By all means, go all in for Christmas Jumper Day for Save The Children, but never wear it before or after that day.
WEAR: Burgundy
You can’t escape burgundy at this time of year and it’s a luxury, deep and rich colour that is a welcome break from Santa-red at Christmas.
Opt for silky textures or velvet for extra style points.
AVOID: PJs
The trend of feather trimmed co-ords has had its day and is so dated.
Don’t pull out your hair plucked pair this year, and don’t get a new set, instead still go for the satin two-piece but just steer clear of the plumes.
WEAR: Sequin Dress
Try to switch up sequins slightly by wearing them with a different texture or colour, eg a sequin skirt with a sleek knit.
But when you’re really stuck on what to wear reach for the sequins, it is Christmas after all.
AVOID: Sequin blazer
Nothing worse than showing up to a festive do looking like the hired entertainment.
Leave the sequin blazer to magicians and Strictly judges, instead always reach for a classic tux style or velvet.
WEAR: Bling trousers
Last party season embellished jeans with diamante bling had a moment, and this year they’re going to be as much of a hit.
If you don’t want gemstones pinging off wherever you go then try metallic, PU trousers.
Amongst the viewers there were also plenty of those who saw the vision the young woman had been going for – and explained why it hadn’t worked out the way she had intended it to.
”Hear me out, hair up, lots of jewels and lighter tights,” a fellow fashionista advised.
”You need a chunky black buckle belt girl!!!! Xx I promise it’ll do something,” a second suggested another styling tip.
Mrs Doubtfire kitten heels fail
Luckily for Naomi, she is not the only one to have suffered an epic Christmas fashion blunder – as one woman recently revealed she was left looking like Mrs Doubtfire, thanks to her £28 kitten heels from ASOS.
”So I wanted some new shoes for my Christmas girls’ night out this weekend and I thought I’ll try some red pointy shoes,” said mum Rebecca.
This is when she decided to check the online fast fashion giant where she found a pair of burgundy red kitten heels selling for £28.
”I’m wearing leather trousers, so you wouldn’t be able to see the heels anyway,” the mum-of-one shared her vision in the video.
Unfortunately for the trendy make-up artist, when the heels finally arrived, they turned out to be an epic fail.
”I tried them on and it’s giving Caitlyn Jenner/Mrs Doubtfire,” Rebecca left everyone in stitches, as she shared the hilarious photo on her page.
Horrified by the purchase, the online shopper also tagged the brand in the caption, writing: ”@ASOS, keep them.
”Deffo don’t recommend,” she warned fellow fashionistas to steer clear of the ”rancid” heels.
Since being shared on the platform, the clip has won Rebecca more than 90k views and dozens of comments[/caption]
