Joe Burrow actually gifted his Bengals offensive line Katana swords for Christmas
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow gave his offensive line the gifts of a lifetime for Christmas this year.
The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr. reported that Burrow gave all of his Cincinnati blockers authentic Japanese Katana swords for the holidays.
“Joe does a great job at buying gifts that are extremely meaningful,” LT Orlando Brown said about the gift, per Dehner. “The fact that he bought me a sword, it’s the most ancient form of respect.”
Burrow hasn’t always gotten the best protection from his offensive line over the years, so perhaps this is a subtle way of trying to encourage the guys up front to take better care of him on game days?
While the actual reason is that swords are pretty awesome gifts, it’s still funny to think about a bunch of offensive linemen swinging Katana swords on Sundays to protect their quarterback.
