Warriors vs. Grizzlies injury report
The full injury report for tonight’s game.
The Golden State Warriors are back in action tonight after a little bit of a break, as they host the Memphis Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. PT. It’s the start of a new era for the Dubs, who will welcome point guard Dennis Schröder into the fold after a trade over the weekend. Schröder is expected to start, and it will be fun to see what the lineups look like with him around.
Here’s the full injury report.
Warriors
Out — Moses Moody (left knee patellar tendonopathy)
Moody’s knee injury is certainly lingering longer than Golden State had anticipated. This is his third straight absence, after two games in which he left the game before halftime. That, combined with the in-season tournament break, means Moody hasn’t played a full game since December 5. Hopefully he’s back to full strength soon.
Grizzlies
Out — Jay Huff (left ankle sprain)
Huff is in his fourth NBA season and on his fourth team. But fourth time’s the charm, as he’s having his best season by far, and looks like a clear NBA rotation piece. He shouldn’t be out too long with his ankle injury.
Out — GG Jackson II (right fifth metatarsal repair)
Jackson had a standout rookie season last year, averaging 14.6 points per game despite being a second-round pick. He really capitalized on all of the injuries that Memphis had. Unfortunately, he turned into one of those injuries this year, as he underwent offseason surgery and has yet to make his season debut.
Out — Vince Williams Jr. (right ankle sprain)
Williams has really struggled with injuries this year, and has only played in three games in his third season. Hopefully he can get back on the court soon.
Doubtful — Marcus Smart (left shoulder soreness)
It’s always fun watching Smart guard Steph Curry, though I’m guessing Curry will be pretty happy if he doesn’t have to go up against one of the league’s premier perimeter defenders on every possession.
Questionable — Ja Morant (low back soreness)
The Grizzlies difficult 2023-2024 season finally put to rest the silly notion that they were somehow better when their All-Star point guard couldn’t play. A healthy Morant is essential for Memphis’ chances of success, and the Warriors won’t shed any tears if he can’t play.
