Firefighter injured while extinguishing Franklinton fire
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- One firefighter has been injured while battling a working fire in Franklinton on Thursday.
The Columbus Division of Fire arrived on the scene of a reported fire at the first block of N. Central Ave. shortly after noon and put out the flame. According to Battalion Chief Scott Sanders, a resident tried to light a gas stove with a flammable liquid, leading to the blaze.
In the midst of putting it out, a firefighter was injured and taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. The person was unable to extinguish the fire themselves, but was not injured.
