Major Emmerdale villain to be unmasked in Christmas shocker with Kim Tate left fighting for her life and fortune
EMMERDALE is set to unmask a major villain this Christmas as the identity of Kim Tate’s mystery foe is revealed.
The ITV soap has been teasing the identity of the villain for weeks with Kim’s husband Will Taylor teaming up with her business manager Peter for a secret revenge plot.
Kim has no idea Will has been working against her[/caption]But it was revealed this month that Peter has been working for someone else – and now The Sun can exclusively reveal when viewers will meet them.
A source said: “Bosses have pulled out all the stops to keep this reveal as a bombshell for fans.
“Kim’s at her best when she’s got someone to fight against and this is going to test her like nothing else has before.
“It’s going to be a proper festive treat for viewers when the identity is revealed on Christmas Eve.”
Hints have been dropped about the identity of the foe with Will growing increasingly furious with Peter and the mystery man.
Will, humiliated from his split with Kim and her determination to keep him from getting half her fortune, has teamed up with her former business partner Peter.
He has convinced Kim that he still loves her and they have reunited – and are planning a vow renewal for Christmas Day.
Will is planning to take all of Kim’s money and then jilt her – humiliating her at the ceremony.
However Kim inviting Will’s daughter Dawn and her family to move back into Home Farm means he’s had second thoughts on exposing his plan in front of them.
Earlier this week Peter told Will that the boss was in another timecode while delivering a message.
“I’m here with a message from the boss,” he told Will.
Will replied: “Oh the mysterious boss in his own time zone. I’m starting to run out of patience with the both of you.”
And in today’s episode when Will tried to call off the plan set for Christmas Day, Peter issued a chilling threat.
Kim Tate's biggest Emmerdale storylines
First appearing in 1989, Kim Tate (Claire King) is an iconic Emmerdale character. Here's a look at some of her biggest storylines over the years.
MARRIAGE TO FRANK TATE
Kim has been married three times in the soap, but her first, volatile pairing was with Frank Tate (Norman Bowler)
They were an on-screen partnership for almost a decade – including divorcing and remarrying.
However, Frank ultimately suffered a fatal heart attack, brought on by Kim’s return to the village after being presumed dead.
During the marriage, Kim had affairs with Neil Kincaid (Brian Deacon) and Dave Glover (Ian Kelsey).
FAKING HER OWN DEATH
Kim disappeared from the village in February 1997. A few days later, Frank identified a woman found dead at the wheel of her car as Kim.
However, everyone was in for a shock after Kim revealed she was still alive – and the full extent of her plan.
While she’d fled to the Caribbean, Kim had paid a lookalike prostitute to drive her car around the village to fool people into thinking she was still there. It was, in fact, her body that Frank previously identified.
JAMES’ KIDNAPPING
Kim’s business partnership with Lord Alex Oakwell (Rupam Maxwell), resulted in the death of Linda Fowler (Tonicha Jeronimo), in a car crash.
As an act of revenge, Linda’s mother Jan (Roberta Kerr) kidnapped Kim’s son James.
DEPARTURE
After a decade of causing chaos, Kim left Emmerdale in 1999 as she fled in a helicopter with her son James and £190,000 of Chris Tate’s money.
LATER MARRIAGES
Upon Kim’s return in 2018, she was first revealed to be married to Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough).
However, he was later killed off in a whodunnit storyline.
She later pursued a relationship with her employee Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), marrying him in 2022.
“This isn’t someone you want to get on the wrong side of so if you want to see in the new year, you better stick to the plan,” Peter warned him.
