‘I’m going to knock him out’: Tyson Fury makes promise ahead of Usyk rematch
Tyson Fury is promising a knockout against Oleksandr Usyk in Saturday’s rematch.
Tyson Fury isn’t just looking to get revenge in Saturday’s rematch against Oleksandr Usyk, he’s looking to do so in devastating fashion, and to make good on a promise to event organizer Turki Alalshikh.
“I’m going to knock him out,” Fury said days ahead of the fight. “I’m going to give Turki what I promised him in May, a cooked rabbit in his kitchen. That’s my promise!”
Fury (34-1-1, 24 KO) lost to Usyk (22-0, 14 KO) by split decision on May 18, and the highly-anticipated rematch will give Fury the chance to regain three of the four heavyweight title belts he lost six months ago.
Fury says that this is “the biggest event of (his) life,” which is quite a statement for someone who has had many massive fight nights in his career already.
“I’m the only show in town. This time around everything is pretty much the same,” he said. “It’s the biggest event of my life, so in that regard it’s pretty much the same. From one biggest event to the next biggest event. I’m looking forward to putting on a show as always.”
