High street bargain chain slashes price of Terry’s Chocolate to just 75p and it’s the cheapest all year
A MAJOR high street chain has slashed the price of a Terry’s Milk Chocolate Ball to just 75p, making it the best offer around.
Poundland has dropped prices just in time for Christmas – but you’ll have to be quick to get your hands on one.
The Terry’s Chocolate Milk Ball dropped back in October[/caption]Poundland has knocked the price on shelves lower than every other retailer, with the sweet treat selling for as much as £2 in other stores.
The chocolate ball is £2 in M&S and Sainsbury’s – marking a 60% reduction in Poundland.
While if you have a Nectar Card or shop in Tescos or Asda, you will need to spend £1.50 on the Terry’s product.
Poundland is the next cheapest place to buy – and the best around – selling for half of that at just 75p.
So you’ll have to hurry if you want to grab the bargain before Christmas, as stocks are likely to sell fast.
The Terry’s Milk Chocolate Ball dropped in October and some fans were unenthused about the plain-flavoured addition.
It came after Terry’s widened its selection last year with an exciting new mint flavour.
However, others who have tried the new milk chocolate version have changed their minds about the product, and classed it as “delicious”.
Lorène Decam, at Terry’s, previously said: “Launching a plain version is something most brands start with but Terry’s will always be different.
“Who knew forgetting the orange could be so ballsy?”
The alternative versions have the same segment structure but with a twist on the traditional chocolate orange taste.
The mint-flavoured and traditional Terry’s Chocolate Oranges are currently the cheapest to buy for £1.49 in Tesco and Aldi.
This means Poundland’s offer on the Terry’s Milk Chocolate Ball makes it the cheapest Terry’s product around right now.
However, keep in mind that prices are constantly changing in the run-up to Christmas as stores battle it out for the best deals.
Make sure you compare prices between shops before you buy so you know you’re getting the cheapest offer.
Though Poundland’s offer is pretty cheap, it doesn’t hurt to check.
Comparison websites like Trolley are useful for this, as they provide an overview of all the most updated supermarket prices.
Also, look around in-store for any last-minute reductions which aren’t showing online.
A great way to do this is by looking for yellow stickers and sale signs.
If you want to find your nearest Poundland, go to its website and use the Store Locator tool.
How to save money on Christmas shopping
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping.
Limit the amount of presents – buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.
Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you’re not having to buy multiple presents.
Plan ahead – if you’ve got the stamina and budget, it’s worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales.
Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you’re not forking out more than you should though.
Buy in Boxing Day sales – some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25.
Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent.
Shop via outlet stores – you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.
They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.
CHEAPEST XMAS TUBS THIS WEEK
In the run-up to Christmas each year, supermarkets face a price war and compete for the best prices on chocolate tubs.
This means they are constantly changing – so you should always keep an eye out for the cheapest offer.
You can do this by going on supermarket websites and searching for your desired product.
Or, for a more broad search, you can toggle “sort by” and “cheapest first” while browsing to see the best deals.
As of this week, a regular 550g tub of Heroes Cadbury chocolates is cheapest in Asda for £4.
In Tesco you can also get it for £4.50 if you’re a Clubcard holder – otherwise, you’ll need to spend £6.
£6 is the flat rate elsewhere this week, such as in M&S, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s.
However, Morrisons is offering a deal of two Christmas tubs for £8 – meaning each one would cost just £4 if you’re wanting to stock up.
Celebrations and Quality Street tubs reflect the same prices and generally cost £6 in most stores.
But they can also be bought cheapest in Aldi for £4.49, as well as £4.50 in Co-Op and for Tesco Clubcard members.
Keep in mind that online prices do not always reflect what you see in-store – some reductions may be happening in your local shop which aren’t advertised.
