Disney Cuts Trans Storyline From Upcoming Pixar Series 'Win or Lose,' Releases Statement Explaining Why
Disney has once again cut out a LGBTQ+ story from a project.
The latest was to be included in the upcoming first-ever Pixar series Win Or Lose, which is now set to be released in February 2025.
According to THR, the series removed a trans story arc from a later episode, though the character will still be included.

“When it comes to animated content for a younger audience, we recognize that many parents would prefer to discuss certain subjects with their children on their own terms and timeline,” a Disney spokesperson shared with THR.
While the character is still being included, lines of dialogue referencing their gender identity are being removed, a decision that was reportedly made months ago.
Win or Lose was supposed to debut earlier this month, but was pushed back to a February 19, 2025 release on Disney+. Check out a teaser trailer!
This is, of course, not the first time an LGBTQ+ storyline or moment has been cut from a Pixar project. Most recently, a gay kiss was cut from 2022′s Lightyear, but was later added back in amid backlash.
Also in 2022, animated Disney film Strange World made history as it featured Walt Disney Animation Studios’ first ever openly gay teen character.
Walt Disney Animation and Pixar are two separate animation studios under the Disney umbrella.
