Emmerdale star forced to ‘clear something up’ as she speaks out on exit rumours as shocking storyline kicks off
EMMERDALE star Beth Cordingly has hit out at fake claims she’s leaving the show.
The actress – who plays Ruby Fox-Miligan in the ITV soap – has taken to social media to set the record straight after fans suggested she was being “mistreated” by producers.
Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly has spoken out about rumours of her exit[/caption]“I just wanted to clear something up, because loads of people keep contacting me and saying, ‘Oh I hear that you’re leaving the show’,” she said in the video posted to Instagram.
“There’s some sort of fake news article going round saying all sorts of stuff.
“For the record, if I’m allowed to say this, I’m not leaving the show at the moment – as far as I know.”
She added: “I’m having a really lovely time. I adore my job. And I definitely don’t think I’m being mistreated by any producers.
“I’m being treated very well and I’m having a lovely time.”
The news comes after it was revealed Beth would be tackling her biggest storyline yet with the news that her character Ruby was subject to childhood sexual abuse.
In a flashback episode viewers discovered that Ruby was abused by her dad Anthony in devastating scenes.
Viewers watched ass Ruby’s sixteenth birthday party got underway with a glimpse of her tragic past, although the scenes were not graphic in content.
Ruby was seen begging her dad to leave her alone as he abused her.
What happened to Ruby as a child is still a secret from her husband Caleb with Ruby burying the trauma as a coping mechanism.
