Gifts delivered to Troy non-profit for families in need
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A local non-profit organization worked with a utility company to provide gifts for children in need. National Grid delivered Christmas gifts to the Hope 7 Community Center in Troy on Monday.
It's part of Hope 7's Sponsor a Family Holiday Program. Businesses and individuals can buy gifts for local families. The program has been ongoing for more than 10 years and continues to make a big difference.
"Christmas is such a huge financial burden for so many low income families, so it's just a great way to be able to give children an amazing Christmas because no matter where you are, where you live, you deserve to have a great Christmas," Hope 7 Exec. Dir. Maggie Hall said.
Hope 7 also has a Santa Shop. For those who are not part of the Sponsor a Family program can go there to pick out a few gifts for each child.
