Gino & Fred: Emission Impossible viewers slam show as they switch off in droves after bum flashing and lewd banter
GINO D’Acampo left viewers switching off after baring his bum while getting an intimate tattoo on ITV’s Gino & Fred: Emission Impossible.
The TV chef, 48, crouched on all fours and lifted his underwear during an episode packed with lewd banter.
During Part 1 of the series, Gino and co-star Fred Sirieix were exploring eco-friendly lifestyles around Europe, when Gino decided to commemorate the moment with a permanent memento.
Gino asked for a tattoo of a beaver on his bum, saying it would give him free travel around Austria if he showed it to conductors on the trains.
After a quick search on Google, Fred clarified: “That was valid last year, it was for last year.
“Not only that, it was for a specific festival, in 2023.”
Gino showed the camera his tattoo and said: “My wife is going to kill me. This is b*****ks.”
Fred replied: “But what are you doing there, with your bum in the air?”
Viewers shared their second-hand embarrassment on social media.
However, it wasn’t just the tattoo and Gino stripping off that got people talking.
After sleeping naked in a cabin with Fred, and going “beaver watching” in the mountains, viewers said they’d had enough.
In one awkward moment, Gino told Fred: “Beaver? Did you say beaver? I’m a huge beaver fan.
“So we need to sit down and wait for the beaver to come to us? This is different.”
In another scene, a barman explained that he served blonde beer, which prompted the enthusiastic reply from Gino: “I like blondes!”
And when Fred made a passing comment to “touch wood” for good luck, Gino said “You want to touch wood? Here you go,” reaching for his crotch.
It is their first travel show without pal Gordon Ramsay.
Reacting to the scenes, one viewer wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “ITV at its worst #GinoandFred.”
Another added: “#ginoandfred was really looking forward to this but sad to say i won’t be bothering with the next episode. Need the full trio back….”
One more wrote: “What a place for a tattoo ” as another echoed: “I don’t think I’ll be watching Part 2”
Another echoed: “So disappointed with this” as one commented: “No wonder Gordon swerved this one”.
The episode follows The Sun’s story that Gino had previously flashed staff members on another production and thrust his crotch at a female staffer.
The woman worked with Gino between 2006 and 2011 on flagship show This Morning, where he was resident chef, and on Saturday Cooks.
It is understood she decided to speak out amid a raft of allegations against the BBC’s MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace came to light.
The Sun also told how Gino is being slowly sidelined by ITV amid a string of claims about inappropriate behaviour.
Gino has yet to comment on the backlash.
