Poundland shoppers ‘in love’ with their new £12 festive jumper that’s practically identical to £99 John Lewis one
THE CHRISTMAS party season is well and truly here – and if you’re yet to find the perfect outfit for the festivities, it’s worth popping down to Poundland.
The popular discount retailer has launched a number of Christmas essentials, including purse-friendly gifts, decor and nibbles that won’t break the bank.
Now, thrifty Poundland shoppers have been raving over an affordable jumper that looks an awful lot like a more posh version from another high-street store.
What’s more, not only is the wardrobe must-have practically identical – but also more than eight times cheaper, meaning you can look just as chic on a budget.
One delighted customer, Claire Mellor, took to Facebook to inform fellow fashionistas about the bargain deal.
Showing off her new gorgeous piece, Claire, from Huddersfield, told other members of the Poundland Appreciation Society: ”I’m in love with this jumper!
”How alike is it to the £99 John Lewis one!!! £12 ours!!” the bargain-mad shopper said in the post.
Both of the knitted winter essentials boasted a neutral light brown base colour, as well as an intricate geometric print on the top half.
To make the affordable version look even more posh and closer to the John Lewis’ pricey number, Claire styled the jumper with a simple white shirt underneath.
The versatile jumper, which is sure to remain trendy for years to come, can be dressed both up and down, depending on the ocassion.
Heading to the office? Pair the jumper and shirt combo with smart tailored bottoms and comfy loafers, and you’re ready to tackle the day.
For a more relaxed fit, swap the tailored trousers with a pair of jeans and throw on basic white trainers.
Need a last-minute Christmas party outfit? Style the cosy jumper with sheer black tights, faux leather shorts and sexy knee-high boots – and you’re bound to make heads turn.
It’s not just Claire who’s loving her brand new purchase – dozens of fellow members of the page flooded to give the post a like and tagged their pals in the comments.

An ex employee on Poundland's prices
Holly Laing, 22, from Northampton, has revealed she used to work in Poundland and often heard customers say the same annoying thing.
Holly claimed she worked for Poundland in 2015 for three months as a Christmas temp.
She said that customers would get annoyed when products cost more than £1 individually.
In a comical video, Holly acted out a scenario that often occurred on her shift at the bargain store, where customers were always baffled and irritated that items could cost over £1.
Holly uploaded her video with the caption “I heard this a lot” as she said: “POV: Not everything’s £1 in Poundland”.
Holly explained that customers would often say to her: “But this is the pound shop, is it not?”
“That’s very misleading, I’ll only pay for that if it’s a pound.”
This comes after the bargain retailer slashed hundreds of prices, selling a third of its products for £1 or less to entice shoppers back into its stores.
Customers can now pick up hundreds of items like Fairy Liquid, Colgate toothpaste and Christmas wrapping paper for £1 or less, as well as everyday essentials such as milk, eggs and bread.
Two-litre cartons of milk have been reduced from £1.45, while 800g loaves of Kingsmill or Brace’s bread have dropped from £1.25.
Across Poundland’s typical core range of about 5,000 products, about a third will be £1 or less – roughly 1,666 items.
New signage has already started appearing in Poundland stores declaring it the “Home of the £1”.
Among the items priced at £1 at around 520 stores are fresh produce like apples and oranges.
Six free range eggs have been reduced from £1.50 and £1kg of Whitworth sugar from £1.10.
The Poundland website also has a home of the £1 section with nearly 800 items.
Shoppers will see signs on shop shelves next to items that have been reduced.
