Tottenham forward changes his mind and is now willing to leave the club
One Tottenham forward, who was adamant that he wanted to remain at the club last summer, has now made a big decision on his future, journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed.
2024 has been a year to forget for Tottenham man
2024 began on such a bright note for Richarlison, who had finally found his feet at Tottenham, leading the line impressively for Ange Postecoglou‘s men and scoring goals for fun at the start of the calendar year.
However, the Brazilian has since suffered one injury after another, which has meant that he has simply not been able to get onto the pitch and prove his worth to the Spurs head coach.
Postecoglou has admitted that he is frustrated by the 27-year-old’s fitness woes, which has left him without a suitable backup for Dominic Solanke.
Richarlison changes his mind on his future
Journalist Ben Jacobs has now revealed that the former Everton man was desperate to stay with the Lilywhites and fight for his place in the side last summer.
However, the striker’s stance has now changed as he is thought to be open to a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of the season.
Jacobs said on NUFC Matters: “The situation with Richarlison, the player was absolutely adamant last summer that he wanted to fight for his place at Spurs and we were all pleased to see him happy, most of us wanted it to work at Spurs, and Richarlison to be that £60m player and thrive.
“But now, I’m told the player has changed his mind in the last few months and he’s willing to leave Spurs in 2025.”
Richarlison will not be leaving in January
However, it seems like a January exit is not on the cards for the Brazil international, who has allegedly decided that he will remain put at N17 until the summer.
This update came just a few days ago from Diario AS reporter Eduardo Burgos, who made it clear that just like he did in the summer, Richarlison has snubbed interest from Saudi Arabia ahead of the January window.
The reporter added that the centre-forward has ‘ruled out’ leaving Ange Postecoglou’s side next month.
